Hi, my name is Sam, a personal trainer with a First-Class degree in Psychology from Durham University and a lifelong passion for fitness.
My approach to personal training is grounded in both science and lived experience. I believe that fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s about finding what works for you and helping you grow both physically and mentally along the way.
With a background in a wide range of athletic disciplines — from cross-country and athletics to powerlifting, bodybuilding, yoga, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu — I’ve developed a deep understanding of the key pillars of general physical preparedness: strength, mobility, and cardiovascular fitness. My own training journey began in school, where I earned a spot on the England cross-country team, competing internationally as a junior athlete. These days, I focus on powerlifting and advanced periodisation techniques to continuously improve both my training and that of my clients.
What sets me apart is not just my physical experience, but my psychological insight. My academic background in psychology gives me a deeper understanding of motivation, behaviour change, and exercise adherence — all of which play a vital role in making your progress sustainable and enjoyable.
Whether your goal is to build muscle, run further, lift heavier, or simply fall in love with exercise, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I truly believe there’s a form of training out there for everyone — and I’d love to help you find yours.
Let’s get started on your journey.
